UWELL Caliburn




Added to our updated list and straight to the top is the UWELL Caliburn pod system. Don’t sleep on this, we weren’t that excited by the Caliburn because of its looks, juice capacity and battery life but as the saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover.  Once you take a hit on a Caliburn you’ll quickly understand why it’s so highly regarded.

While it looks just like a lot of the other pod systems on the market it doesn’t act like them. This is best tasting pod vape on our list and it also has the longest-lasting pods/coils.

The UWELL Caliburn features a brand new proprietary technology called Pro-FOCS. This maximizes the vaporizing of vape juice so that you get the most flavorful vape of any pod system. The cloud size for a pod system is amazing. Pod vape juice capacity isn’t the biggest on the list but most vapers would take more flavor over refilling slightly more often.

In an interesting move, one we really like, the Push To Fill slot is exposed on the top of the device. This means it’s super easy and fast to fill with vape juice. You could say it exceeded our expectations! Bad puns aside we’ll now cover the reasons why this is such an innovative product. First up we have the battery, how they managed to fit a 1000mAh battery into such a small mod is remarkable. And when we say it’s small we mean it’s really small, only the Voopoo Drag Nano is of a similar size. You could hold it in your hand an no one would ever know.

The truly innovative part of this pod system is the pods/cartridges themselves. The Exceed Grip kit comes with two cartridges. First up we have the 0.8 Ohm nic salt cartridge which has a massive 3.5mL capacity, one the biggest capacities on our list. The coil isn’t replaceable in this cartridge however, once it starts to lose flavor you’ll need a new Exceed Grip Cartridge.

The other cartridge is for regular vape juice. The kit includes a preinstalled 0.4 Ohm coil in the cartridge and a spare. Unlike the nic salts cartridge, you can simply change the EX-M coils on this one. It has a massive 4.5mL capacity (biggest on this list by a distance) which is insane given the size of the kit. Lost Vape Orion Q is quite simply one of the hottest products in 2019. It’s so solidly made with a metal chassis and carbon fiber side panels. The pod latch is nice and easy to use, pull down and pop out the old pod. New pod slides in easily. Furthermore, the pods last a really decent amount of time, just remember to leave a good amount of time when wicking in a new pod. At the time of writing the pods for the Orion Q are $9.99 for a pack of two.

There are two Orion Q coil options available. 0.25 Ohm which is only compatible with the Q and 0.5 Ohm which will work in both the DNA GO and Orion Q pods. The reason why the Q is so much cheaper than the go is that it doesn’t have all the amazing features. But that doesn’t mean it’s not as good at vaping. With a simple operation its even more ideal for beginner vapers looking for a pod system.

The Suorin Edge has a healthy 1.5mL vape juice capacity which is impressive given the size of the device and the tiny replacement pods. The real innovation for a pod vape is the introduction of two batteries in one kit.

Once one battery has run out of charge simply switch it with the other one to continue vaping. You even get a battery sleeve to store the extra battery. In the kit the two pods have different resistances depending on how you prefer to vape. Pod systems are great, but the key to any happy vaping experience is picking the right mod to suit your vaping profile.
